Advanced Search

Advanced Search allows you to search combinations of keywords, organizations, dates, headlines, stock symbols, locations, industries or subjects, in English and/or French. You can designate whether your search results will match ALL or ANY of the search criteria.

  1. Search criteria: select what you want to search. Search by organization name, title/headline, date, stock symbol, location, industry or subject.

  1. Relationship field: select how you want to search. Different criteria have different relationships. For example, search for an exact phrase, all of the words or any of the words in your query.

  1. Value field: This is where you enter what you want to search for (e.g. 'class action', 'XYC Company', etc.)

  1. Add more filters to refine your search. Click the '+' button to add a new filter. The 'x' button will remove a filter if your search becomes too narrow.

Can't find what you're looking for? Here are some tips for maximizing your search results.

My search returned no results.

Your search terms should not be too restrictive; remove any unnecessary filters and ensure that your terms are general enough to match more documents.

Make sure you have selected the correct language filter. For example, searching for a French company name in English releases may not yield any results.

Failing that, be sure that your search terms are spelled correctly.

My text/full text search returns too many results.

Your search may be too broad. To refine your search, select "contains the exact phrase" and try again.

I can't find the asset I'm looking for.

Try narrowing your search by adding more filters. If your search is too general it will match more than the maximum result limit of 200 and it may not be visible.

My bookmarked search no longer works.

Sorry about that. When we upgraded our search, saved queries were lost. Please conduct the search again and update your existing bookmark with the new URL.

When I search by organization search results contain assets from organizations other than the one I specified.

Be sure to select "is" from the dropdown menu to exactly match the organization name. You may also want to be sure you are using the correct name used in the organization's news releases.
